RIP JOSH RTE star Baz Ashmawy is heartbroken as an ‘amazing’ six-year-old kid dies a week later after appearing on DIY SOS.
Baz Ashmawy and his crew at RTE are heartbroken following the death of a kid. Josh Parsons appeared on the show last month with his parents, Jen and Glen, for a refurbishment of their Longford apartment. During the episode, Josh’s mother disclosed that he has Smith-Magennis Syndrome, a serious cognitive disability that causes him functioning problems. As a result, he was facing difficulty sleeping. Therefore, his mother Jenny was lying on the floor to look after him at night.
However, the brave child died this week on Tuesday at Crumlin Children’s Hospital after being confined to the intensive care unit for a few days.
His legacy will be honored tomorrow, Thursday, at 2.15 p.m., at Newlands Cross Crematorium.
Following the news, DIY SOS Tv host Baz and the DIY SOS TV team expressed their deepest condolences.
They stated: “Baz Ashmawy, the entire DIY SOS team & community of volunteers, and everyone at Motive Television is devastated to hear of the loss of young Josh Parsons, son to Jen and Glen, who was the center of our Longwood episode earlier this year.
“Josh was a fighter and an inspiring young boy, and his family did him proud in every step of his tragically short life.
“Our hearts go out to Jen, Glen, and Ryan, their entire network of family, friends, and neighbours in Longwood, Co. Meath.
“May Josh rest in peace.”
After hearing his story, Baz and his volunteer team renovated his family home to ensure that it conforms to his requirements, as he had difficulty walking, sitting, and sleeping.
“I always think it must be hard to share your truth, stories that are so personal to you and your family with a complete stranger.
“But Glen @glenparsons1 and Jen @jennyparsons1983 were so sweet and honest with me.
“They’re amazing parents. I adore them. I’ve learned so much from them. But, I’m still in awe of how they never complain.

“What they put out into the universe is all love. They just lived every moment with their family, and they were so grateful to all the volunteers.
“So that you know, they adore their new house, and Ryan and Josh couldn’t be happier there.
“Volunteers, you did that. I say it every week, but god, I love you…. thank you!
