T. J. Edwards, an American football linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, was born on August 12, 1996. (NFL). At Wisconsin, he played collegiate football.

Despite being a quarterback in high school, he was recruited as a defensive player for college football. Edwards had a commitment to Western Michigan at first. However, Edwards changed his mind about playing for Wisconsin in early December 2013 after Dave Aranda, the Badgers’ defensive coordinator, recruited him.

Edwards sat out his freshman year. The team was preparing to play Auburn in the Outback Bowl at the end of the season. The team’s younger players were given extra reps, and UW defensive coordinator Dave Aranda praised Edwards, saying, “He was the MVP of that period, in my opinion.”

With 2014 starters Marcus Trotter and Derek Landisch graduating and needing to be replaced, Edwards was thrust into the starting lineup. Edwards had earned the starting spot alongside Leon Jacobs after spring practice.

Edwards started all 13 games as a redshirt freshman. Edwards had 12 tackles against Alabama in the season opener. However, he only had ten tackles in the next three games. Edwards was named Big Ten freshman of the week on October 19 for his performance against Purdue, in which he had 16 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

Edwards was a quarterback at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, Illinois. During his senior year, he also played three games as Safety. He had 20 tackles, two TFLs, two sacks, and an interception in three defensive games.

Edwards finished the regular season with 159 tackles, 99 solo tackles, and two sacks. Edwards had the most tackles on his team and was tied for seventh in the league. He improved on his already impressive 2021 season, in which he tied for 15th in the league with 130 tackles.
