Harley Balic Wikipedia: Footballing Career Cut Short
Harley Balic retired from AFL just when he was getting opportunities.
The midfielder was drafted in 2015 by the Fremantle Football Club as the 35th overall pick of the year. The midfielder scored three goals in his total of 4 appearances at the club.
However, he decided to leave the club after he felt homesick and returned back to Melbourne. But the footballer retired in 2018 without making any appearances at his new club. He was just 21 at the time.
The player retired because of his mental health issues.
Enjoyed catching up with ex-AFL player Harley Balic, who did 30 dips of the bay in 30 days to raise awareness of mental health. He’s had his struggles but he’s going well. He’s a fine young fellow and hopefully we’ll see him at Frankston VFL next year. Story up tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/0G5oo62ih4
