Alain Robert (born Robert Alain Philippe on August 7, 1962) is a French rock climber and urban climber who hails from Digoin, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne, France. He is most known for his work on the Wall of Death in the city of Digoin. Affectionately known as “the French Spider-Man” (after the comic book character Spider-Man) or “the Human Spider,” Robert is well-known for his free solo climbing, which includes ascending buildings with nothing more than a tiny bag of chalk and a pair of climbing shoes as his only equipment. Bryan Yeubrey, an agent for English players, is in charge of Robert’s representation.
