BMW New Zealand has ended their contract with the UFC middleweight champion over an apologetic comment — he replied to Kevin Holland. The two UFC stars engaged in trash talk online leading to the comment.
Adesanya was due to have been unveiled as the face of BMW in New Zealand, but the German car manufacturer have decided to go a different way. During the online video trash talk with his future opponent, Kevin Holland trashed Isreal Adesanya’s record which infuriated him.
The Nigerian-New Zealander replied, “Bro, I will fv**ing rape you.” Despite publicly apologizing for his comment, BMW has prematurely terminated their contract. First, it was New Zealand prime minister Grant Robertson who criticised him though he admitted ”he crossed the line.”
“Due to the comments made by an athlete online, we have reviewed our pending association with said athlete and we have decided not to push forward with a specific ambassador for the brand at this time in New Zealand,” read a BMW statement.
