Celebrated Grammy award winner and media sensation Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu known illustriously known as Burna boy is by merit, one of the most influential figures in afro music. Born in Port Harcourt on July 12, 1991, Burna boy developed a passion for music at a very young age. At 10, he had begun to produce his own music and in secondary school, he would perform at many events with friends.
Shortly after, he had gone to London to pursue an undergraduate in media technology at the University of Sussex and subsequently to Oxford Brookes University to study media communications and culture. Damini,19 at the time would travel back to the southern part of Nigeria where he had met LeriQ and with a makeshift studio, they had invested all of their time into making music.
Burna boy then signed to Aristocrat Records, had quickly become a household name after the release of his debut studio album in 2013 which had songs like ‘’LIKE TO PARTY’’ and ‘’RUN MY RACE’’ attracting massive airplay. The album is said to have sold innumerable copies on the eve of its release. Ogulu now has 5 albums to his credit and not only a record-breaking number of awards to show for it but a big bank account in that regard.
In 2020, Forbes estimated that Burna boy was worth around $3.5m. Reacting to the report on social media the ‘’YE’’ hitmaker boastfully claimed that even his cars were worth more than Forbes’ estimation. There have subsequently been a myriad of speculations about Burna boys net worth. With over 100 million streams across many online media platforms and multi-platinum record sales as well as endorsement deals worth millions of dollars his estimated net worth in 2021 is a whopping $17m.
