Christian Atsu Twasam is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Newcastle United and serves as a midfielder and striker for the Ghanaian national team, the Ghana Black Stars. Atsu was born on 10th January, 1992 in  Ada Foah, Greater Accra Region. He spent some of his education at Feyenoord’s African academy in Accra.

Christian Atsu Soccer Career

Christian Atsu began his soccer career with FC Porto briefly after which he spent a season on loan at Rio Ave. His sterling performance a Rio Ave landed him a £3.5 million deal with English side, Chelsea, who subsequently loaned him to Vitesse Arnhem, Everton, AFC Bournemouth and Málaga. After spending the 2016 and 2017 season on loan at Newcastle United, he finally joined the club permanently in May 2017. Atsu represented Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and assisted the Black Stars to finish as runner-up at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
