Mookie, short for Markus Lynn Betts, is a professional baseball player from the United States and plays right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. During his career in the field, Mookie was a member of the Boston Red Sox.
While playing for the Red Sox in 2018, he made history by being the first player in Major League Baseball to win the batting championship, Most Valuable Player, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, and World Series in the same season.
The Red Sox selected Betts in the first round of the 2011 draft. He started his career in Major League Baseball in the 2014 season, playing second base and the outfield. In 2014, he was moved to the center field position for the Red Sox.
