Ree Drummond has never been in a car accident of any type. Her husband Ladd was hurt instead following a terrifying incident on the family’s cattle ranch in Oklahoma.
Followers of the Pioneer Woman may recall that in March 2021, Ladd injured his neck twice in a head-on collision with his nephew Caleb as the two raced to extinguish a fire that had started nearby.
The first fracture was medically fixed, but the second fracture needed time to recover, which required him to wear a neck brace for a few months, including his daughter Alex’s wedding in May.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report acquired byPeople, the drivers’ inability to see was caused by strong winds on a dirt road. Both weren’t adequately secured, so Caleb was thrown from the car.
Ladd first declined medical assistance at the site but then changed his opinion and chose to drive himself to the hospital.
