Jules Gounon is the son of Jean-Marc Gounon, a former racing driver who finished second in the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was born and raised by his amazing parents in Aubeans, France.
He began karting at the age of 15 in 2010 with the help of his father. In 2011, he was elected Rotax National French Champion and won the X30 world title.

For the 2013 season, Jules was promoted to single-seaters and competed in the French F4 Championship, finishing second with six wins. For a year, he raced in Formula Renault 2.0, but he did not impress since he “could not get along with the team.”
He enjoys spending time with his family in his spare time. The auto driver has always adored and hoped to be like his father when he grows up, and he has so far succeeded in making his parents proud.
