After buying the ownership rights from Rowling in 1999, Warner Bros has earned a gross revenue of USD 7.7 billion from the eight films that compose the captivating franchise from box offices globally. Thanks to Warner Bros, we get to see our favorite Harry Potter characters (which Rowling still owns rights of) on the big screens. Hogwarts became a household name too.
J.K Rowling was the executive producer for the movie series. The first two movies were directed by Chris Columbus. Warner Bros released the first Harry Potter movie in November. 2001. Subsequently, the other parts of the franchise followed in this order: Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (which broke our hearts with the death of Albus Dumbledore, the Head of Hogwarts), and the final series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
