Frankston Man Arrested
As per the sources, a man who was arrested and charged with kidnapping after reportedly stealing a car with an 11-month-old boy inside in Melbourne continuously called the cops asking for help to get him released from jail. The man was identified as Dean Robertson aged 46 from Frankston. He was yet to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, however, didn’t appear through phone and video link due to his mischief.
In a pied court hearing, watch house staff from a jail cell in Dandenong, appeared through a video link from the jail cell Robertson should have appeared from. A custody supervisor told the court Robertson had dialed triple-O each time a phone was handed to him. The officer said, “He had had a phone call earlier, whilst he had the phone he made numerous calls to triple-0. He created problems there and also he’s acting in an aggressive manner as well.”
Why was Frankston Man Arrested?
The officer added that he was just trying to involve and because of Covid-19 they can’t remove him from the cell due to isolation purposes and the phone. Jack Rabl, the lawyer of the accused, refused his client was troublesome, but prison staff refuted those assertions. Robertson told the health worker that his jail cell was his home and she was to leave, the officer reported.
It was heard by the court that Robertson was suspected to be contracted with Covid-19 which directly meant he was required to stay in isolation. Mr. Rabl said in his statement in the court that he believed Robertson had a history of psychiatric illness and would be vulnerable while in jail. The lawyer said that he wished to make a bail application on behalf of Robertson. The police reported that Robertson was behind the wheel when the car was stolen in Keysborough at around 2:10 pm on Tuesday.
