What did Gavin Escobar die from? Escobar was one of two climbers found by first responders at Tahquitz Rock near Idyllwild in the San Bernardino National Forest on Wednesday, authorities said on Twitter.

Officials indicated Escobar and Chelsea Walsh, the other climber, died at the scene while climbing a “rock face.”

A small amount of rain fell in the area earlier in the day. However, officials didn’t immediately say if the weather change was a factor which led to the deaths of Escobar, 31 and Walsh, 33.
