Tre Ford, a quarterback for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League, is Canadian from his nationality. He was recognized in 2021 as the Hec Crighton Trophy winner for U Sports football and the Lois and Doug Mitchell Award for top male university athletes.
He led the Marauders to three straight OFSAA titles while he was a quarterback at A. N. Myer Secondary School.
Ford was ranked first among players in U Sports and fourth overall in the Canadian Football League’s Amateur Scouting Bureau’s final rankings of players eligible for the 2022 CFL Draft.
Tre was also rumored to be signed by a National Football League team because of his impressive performance at the University of Buffalo pro day when his 40-yard dash time of 4.45 was the fastest of any quarterback eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft.
He was not selected in the 2022 NFL Draft and was not signed by an NFL team. However, the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants did invite him to their mini-camps. The Edmonton Elks then selected Ford in the first round of the 2022 CFL Draft.

Before getting hurt, Ford had completed a highlight-reel 46-yard pass on two of three attempts for 52 yards. American Nick Arbuckle, who had lost his starting position to Ford in Week 4, took his spot.
With the Elks having a rough start to the season (0-3), head coach Chris Jones announced that veteran Nick Arbuckle would be replaced by Ford for the team’s matchup with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on October 4.
