Jason Winston George Surgery

After nine seasons on “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Jason might have seen his fill of the intense life-and-death dramas at Grey Sloan Memorial and his character Ben Warren’s regular roller coaster ride of a relationship with Miranda Bailey. He turns up the heat – literally, as both actor and role are heading to a Shonda Rhimes-produced spinoff set in a Seattle firehouse.

The as-yet-untitled, still-unscheduled ten-episode offshoot  the second “Grey’s” spinoff, in the wake of “Private Practice” – is already shooting, and here, George talks with Variety about eagerly diving into the demanding new environment, which finds Ben shifting careers to find even more action fighting fires and possibly even more friction in Ben’s often fiery romance with his wife.

“No I’m not nervous because it’s in the Grey’s universe, it’s Grey’s adjacent so it has all the things about it that I love about Grey’s but it’s also got…I’m an action junkie, my character’s an action junkie and so it’s got all this action in it that I’m excited about,” George said

Jason Winston George Station 19

George took to Twitter Tuesday to tease the upcoming special episode with a video showing himself, Station 19 executive producer Paris Barclay and co-starring Barrett Doss arriving at the set of the long-running ABC medical drama.

As for Shondaland-produced dramas, details on the crossover or when it might air, have not been released. However, both ABC boss Channing Dungey and Station 19 creator Stacy McKee have teased crossovers were on the way for both Seattle-set series.

He then added saying that, “I feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface of Grey’s world interacting with the Station 19 world and vice versa that’s just getting started.”
