Jonathan Beaulieu-Richard, a former CFL linebacker has died. Beaulieu-Richard was born October 10, 1988 and passed away September 25, 2022 at age 33.
Beaulieu-Richard played college football for the Université de Montréal Carabins and had an outstanding college record. He spent five seasons there and also served as team captain.
During Beaulieu-Richard’s college career, he amassed 180.5 tackles, including in his final year in 2012 in which he made 43.5 stops and was named an RSEQ all-star.
Beaulieu-Richard signed with Ottawa during the 2014-15 off-season.
He was signed by the Alouettes on August 4, 2013 after spending training camp and practice roster time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
He played CIS football with the Montreal Carabins between 2008 and 2012.
Beaulieu-Richard, a native of Trois-Rivieres went on to become a pharmacist following his retirement from football and ran for political office in the riding of Maskinongé in 2018.33.
Beaulieu-Richard was diagnosed with cardiac sarcoma, a rare type of primary malignant (cancerous) tumor that occurs in the heart last September and is survived by a wife and two kids.
