Jonathan Beaulieu-Richard, a professional Canadian football linebacker who played for four seasons as a member of three different teams in the Canadian Football League (CFL) was married to Emilie at the time he died.
Though the exact date Jonathan and Emilie got married is yet to be disclosed, the pair are believed to have been married for many years.
Emilie loved to stay away from the media spotlight and as a result, details of her life are under the wraps.
Emilie’s late husband played CIS football with the Montreal Carabins from 2008 to 2012 where he set the team record for most tackles in a game, most tackles in a season, and was second in Carabins history in career tackles.
After college. Emilie’s late husband played parts of four seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks.
He dressed in 26 career games, recording 16 special teams tackles and another on defence.
After his retirement, Beaulieu-Richard pursued a career in pharmacy and also ran as an independent candidate in the riding of Maskinongé in the 2018 Quebec general election.
Last September, he announced that he had stage 4 sarcoma and was scheduled for open heart surgery.
Sadly, he died of cancer on September 25, 2022 at age 33.
