Who Is Leon Draisaitl?

Leon Draisaitl is a German ice hockey player who plays as a centre and serves as alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Born on October 27, 1995, in Germany, Draisaitl began playing hockey at an early age, and in 2012, the Prince Albert Raiders chose him as second overall in the CHL Import Draft.

In 2014, Draisaitl was selected as third overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Entry Draft.

Draisaitl who is the first German player to win the Art Ross Trophy, has also played for the Kelowna Rockets and helped the team win many championships.

Draisaitl has additionally played for Germany at the World junior Championships, and IIHF World Championship, serving as the team’s captain.

Draisaitl has recorded “222 goals, 329 assists and a plus-minus of +15 in 505 games.”

In 2022/23, Draisaitl had up to 26 goals and 72 points in 45 games.

In the last five games, he has scored five goals and 10 points.
