At 4:47 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 4900 block of Pleasant Grove Road on reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, a 42-year-old man emerged, brandishing a firearm and pointing it at them.
Officers told the man to withdraw his weapon, but he returned inside and fired multiple times out of doors and windows, according to a police news release.
Police used CS gas, which is similar to tear gas, on the man, and he surrendered to police around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

Lansing Police say that after apprehending the 42-year-old Lansing man who had barricaded himself for hours, crime scene investigators discovered Dominique Elizabeth Hawn’s body in the residence’s basement. Medics from the Lansing Fire Department assisted and confirmed the victim’s death.
According to police, Hawn was taken to a local hospital where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The Lansing Police Department has classified the case as a homicide investigation. According to the department, this incident poses no immediate threat to the community.

Around 4:47 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to Pleasant Grove Rd. near Jolly Rd. for numerous reports of gunshots.
Officers attempted to make contact when they arrived but were met by a 42-year-old Lansing man who pointed a gun at them.
Officers then told the man to drop his gun, but he ignored their orders and went inside the house, where he fired the gun out the doors and windows several times. The initial officers attempted communication, but it was futile.
The Lansing Police Department’s START Team and Crisis Negotiations Team were dispatched to assist. After many hours of deliberation, the accused finally agreed to accept calls from negotiators.
The Ingham County Special Response Team also assisted Lansing Police. The START team pumped CS gas into the house. The subject surrendered to police around 3:40 p.m.
He will be held at the LPD jail pending the outcome of various felony charges.
