Mitchell Marner, a right winger for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League, was born on May 5, 1997. He is a professional ice hockey player from Canada (NHL). The Maple Leafs selected him as the fourth overall choice in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
As he got older, Marner began developing his skating skills at 3 Zones Hockey School. Prior to going to The Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario, he previously attended Blyth Academy.
Marner played minor league hockey for Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). He played with the Vaughan Kings in the 2011–12 season, and he later captured the GTHL title.
Marner moved to the Don Mills Flyers of the GTHL for the 2012–13 season, where he played his minor midget year, scoring 86 points in 55 games. In the GTHL, he came in behind Dylan Strome for second place in scoring (who was then playing with the Toronto Marlboros).
When Marner’s time with the Flyers came to an end, he was immediately given the opportunity to join the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League, where he later won a championship.
