Sergio Marquina, The Professor, known in real life as Álvaro Morte. Morte was born on June 21, 1971, and turned 50 years this year. The Professor is a fictional character in Netflix series Money Heist.
Sergio’s who is also a Professor is the leader of the gang, and the one who carefully plans and organizes the assaults on the Royal Mint and the Bank of Spain.
He can be described in the series as a sophisticated but nerdy character. He was the mastermind behind the plans of the two heists. He controlled the heist through hiding outside the Royal Mint.
Season 4 finale proved that even the Professor’s best-laid plans don’t always succeed as the rogue and pregnant police officer, Alicia Sierra, managed to track the Professor to his secret storm drain hideout.
Despite Berlin and The Professor actually being brothers with different surnames. It doesn’t come clear in the series which parent they share; being mother or father. However Morte and Alonso created their own backstory for their characters, in which they are half-brothers, and Berlin is the older brother from his father’s first marriage.
