Alex earned the second NASCAR Cup Series victory of his career after leading 110 laps and taking stage 1 in the Auto Club 400 on 1 March 2020.
He was qualified second for the 2022 Daytona 500 to start his 2022 season, but on lap 63 of the race, he collided with Harrison Burton’s flipped car.
At the beginning of the 2021 season, he won the pole at the 2021 Daytona 500. Then, he won at Richmond after holding off Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano in a late-race restart with 12 laps remaining.
Bowman managed to continue, although he lost four laps and placed in the 24th position. The following week, he ran in the top 10 and came in 25th when Alex hit the outside wall late in the race.
