Poorna Jagannathan is of Indian descent and was born into an Indian family. She was born in Tunisia. However, she grew up in several countries such as Pakistan, Ireland, India, Brazil, and Argentina.
She is also bilingual & speaks languages such as Tamil, Hindi, English, Spanish, & Hindi. She is a daughter of an Indian Diplomat, but she has chosen to keep her parent’s identity discreet.
