At 48, Jeff Guaracino lost his life after he failed to win his long battle with cancer.
He had been the president of Visit Philly since the year 2018.
Guaracino took his job at Visit Philly very seriously and enthusiastically. He was given the role to improve the city”s image, increase tourism, and help the economy. This was to be achieved by attracting day and overnight visitors.
Throughout the pandemic, VisitPhilly maintained its goal through a variety of measures under Guaracino’s leadership.
He will be missed as his love for Philadelphia did not go unnoticed.

Who Is Jeff Guaracino? Did He Die Of Cancer?
Jeff Guaracino was the president and CEO of VISIT PHILADELPHIA who passed away on December 28 after a battle with cancer. The news was confirmed by a Visit Philadelphia spokesperson.
From 2001 through 2012, Guaracino served as the vice president of communications for Visit Philadelphia. Through his mission, he brought people together to celebrate those locations which made Philadelphia so special.
Before being involved with VisitPhilly, Guaracino previously worked as the executive director of the Atlantic City Alliance. He also took up a position as the president and CEO of Welcome America Inc.
You could find him in Society Hill. He was a native of Philadelphia. Moreover, he has received his degree from Rowan University and Camden Community College.

Jeff Guaracino died Tuesday after cancer left him fighting for his life. However, it is said that he died peacefully. We can only hope he felt no pain as he took his last breath.
His family posted on Facebook to express their sorrow over the death of a cherished family member. This is what they had to say on the matter.

“Jeff was an inspirational leader, a world traveler, a skilled novelist and writer, a teacher, a learner, a mentor, and a role model.”
Guaracino was also known for being an advocate for LGBTQ tourism. Guaracino created the revolutionary 2003 ad “Get your history straight and your nightlife gay” while at a local travel agency.
His hard work helped make Philadelphia a vacation destination for LGBTQ members.
Not only that, but he was also a published author. His first book was on LGBTQ tourism marketing. He talked all around the world about queer and trans travel in countries like Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires.
He will be missed for his brilliant mind, compassionate heart, and creative thoughts.
