Robbie Anderson was displeased when reports that the Panthers were considering trading for Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield surfaced days before this year’s NFL draft.
In response to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Carolina would be a destination for Mayfield, Anderson wrote “Nooooo” on an Instagram post by @panthers.way in April.

When another username account @panthersnat1on shared a post with the caption ‘Robby has ZERO chills,’ Anderson responded by commenting, “Facts.”
Anderson explained his earlier remarks regarding Mayfield on Wednesday, stating that his answer was more about safeguarding his current quarterback, Sam Darnold, and being a good teammate.

Carolina Panthers can trust Mayfield to lead the depth chart for the time being, but he will have to beat out Sam Darnold and rookie Matt Corral for the starting job.

Baker Mayfield’s Football Career A Roller-Coaster
Mayfield played collegiate football at Oklahoma, where he earned the Heisman Trophy as a senior after a stay with Texas Tech. The Cleveland Browns made him their first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
In his NFL debut, Mayfield helped Cleveland snap a 635-day losing streak by leading them to their first victory in 19 games. He then broke the rookie quarterback record for passing touchdowns.
His best season came in 2020 when he helped the Browns win and make their first postseason appearance since 1994. However, Mayfield was sent to the Panthers in 2022 due to his uneven performance and disagreements with Brown’s management.
