As if making waves with his captivating music and unique style is not enough, Rapper Lil Nas X is in the news for the launch of his shoe line, ‘Satan’s Shoes”. A controversial name for a shoe brand, one will say. But wait for it! The rapper’s shoes are said to compose of a pint of human blood in the soles!

The Old Town Road and Montero hitmaker collaborated with the MSCHF brand to produce Satan’s shoes. The Brooklyn-based, which brand introduced the unauthorized Hermes-Birkenstock hybrid earlier in February this year, says they collaborated with the 21 years old rapper to convey an artistic message. The Satan’s Shoes which cost 1018 dollars, had a limited number of 666 pieces (which symbolizes the mark of the beast in the Bible) sold out in under a minute.

The shoe has red soles, which are said to contain a pint of blood drawn from employees of MSCHF, and red and black accents and highlights. There is an inscription of the Bible verse Luke 10:18 beneath the shoe. The pair also has the infamous Nike tick, which the manufacturers say, is paying homage to the Nike Air Max 97. Soon after its release, Nike, infuriated with reports of its alleged association with Satan’s shoes, released a press statement denouncing any partnership or collaboration or endorsement of Satan’s shoes. This press release was followed by a lawsuit against MSCHF.

A section of the public has questioned the rapper’s supposed “artistic” choice of Brand name, especially after the release of his “Call Me by Your Name” provocative and non-family friendly video.
