Jeremy Clarkson has used social media to herald the launch of Diddly Squat’s rustic eatery amid opposition from the council over the intended plans.

When “Top Gear” was the first broadcast in its original incarnation from October 1988 to February 2000 and again from October 2002 to March 2015, he had his first major television appearance as host and presenter of the show.

Plus, the majority of the credit for “Top Gear” becoming the most-watched program on BBC Two goes to Clarkson.

According to “Top Gear: Polar Special,” co-host James May and Clarkson made history by becoming the first individuals to drive to the North Pole in 2007.

Presenter Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Restaurant On Oxfordshire Farm

Even with local planners opposing the scheme, Jeremy Clarkson ultimately opened his restaurant at Diddly Squat Farm.

Similarly, the 40-seat Diddly Squat restaurant is currently accepting reservations online, and the Amazon Prime star said that a regulatory gap had allowed them to proceed.

Now that reservations are being accepted for Open Table, Clarkson cautions potential customers that the space is tiny,

Likewise, there is no menu “as such,” according to Clarkson, despite the kitchen being overseen by Pip Lacey from The Great British Menu.

The Times stated that diners could choose between a VIP dining experience for a three-course meal at £69 per head or the finest produce of the day at £49 per head.

The 62-year-old presenter also mentioned that guests will be offered beef and will not have an option as to which cut they receive.

Local Officials Refused Jeremy Clarkson’s Attempt To Build A Restaurant

In January, Clarkson expressed his frustration at the refusal of local officials to allow him to construct his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat farm site with a new restaurant and 70 parking spaces.

That month, Clarkson personally attended a meeting of the planning subcommittee of the West Oxfordshire District Council in an effort to force through his plans, but seven out of 10 councilors voted against them.

The host of the Grand Tour walked out of the conference, claiming it was a bad day for farmers and calling one of the planners a comic.

However, he continued to gain support from residents of his town who believed that council planners disregarded innovative farming ideas.

Although there was dissent among council members on Clarkson’s proposals at the meeting, the decision to deny permission was reached. In their view, the café would not be in line with the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
