As known to all and common it seems these days, a mass shooting happened on July 4, 2022, during an American Independence Day parade in Highland Park, Illinois. Following the mass shooting, the mother of Robert Crimo who is the suspect in the Highland Park shooting violently attacked a SWAT squad.
On a video captured by CBS News on Monday, Denise Pesina can be seen yelling and waving at police in Highland Park’s McDaniels Avenue as a large manhunt for her son (Robert Crimo) is going on.
Crimo, also known as Awake, is a rapper who opened fire from a rooftop, randomly shooting at the parade with a powerful rifle during the Independence Day parade in Highland Park, Chicago, Illinois. Read further to know in full detail.
Was Denise Pesina Arrested?
While there is no news of Denise Penisa being arrested, she and her husband Bob Sr have taken the support of Chicago attorney Steve Greenberg. According to Greenberg, the parents were being unfairly blamed for their son obtaining the high-powered assault rifle used in Monday’s deadly attack.
He further added that the whole system is trying to make this recent issue about parenting while the bigger question should be the availability of military-grade assault weapons for anyone to purchase.
Ms. Pesina spoke with police for several hours following the gunshot during the Independence Day celebration. Additionally, it has come to light that Ms. Pesina’s company had a mailbox at a UPS location only a few blocks from the scene of Monday’s shooting.
After the gunfire fiasco, the police have sealed off the UPS Store, making it impossible for anybody to enter since Monday. The recent mass shooting took place at 10:14 a.m CDT or about 15 minutes after the march had begun. There were eight deaths followed by at least 46 injuries.

Robert Crimo Mother And Parents- More On SWAT Team Drama
After Monday, Robert Crimo’s mother Denise Pesina was seen on Tuesday when she yelled at reporters to “get off my land” as she was leaving the family home. Her previous argument with the SWAT team was reported as dramatic by some people while others sympathized with her.
On the other hand, Denise, the mother of the culprit has also her own history of crime reports and has previously ended up in jail. Likewise, her husband, Bob is reported to be a businessman. The family belongs to a white race, however, it is not known what religion they practice.
Robert Crimo, the suspect, is seen on security footage leaving the location and throwing a rifle, according to Assistant State Attorney Ben Dillon, who testified during a brief hearing.

Even though the alleged gunman had previously made violent threats reported to authorities, he managed to get past background checks designed to stop potentially dangerous people from making gun purchases.
Eric Rinehart, the state attorney for Lake County, declared on Tuesday that Mr. Crimo will be held accountable for “the murdering spree he has unleashed against our community.”
Moreover, on Wednesday, prosecutors said that 83 expended shot casings and rifle magazines had been found at the shooting scene. The shooter, Crimo admitted to authorities that he impersonated a lady in order to depart with the victims.
