The case expands into various scenarios, but authorities cannot find anything concrete to move his case forward purposefully. Nonetheless, the United States Department of Justice and the federal government collaborated to determine the victim’s details to retrace her steps.

Missing: What Happened To Maura Murray?
Maura went missing on the evening of February 9, 2004, following a car accident on Route 112 near Woodsville, New Hampshire, a village in the town of Haverhill. Her current location is unknown. At the time of her disappearance, she was a 21-year-old nursing student in her junior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
According to the official police log, a Haverhill police officer arrived at the scene at 7:46 p.m., but the woman driver had vanished. There was no one inside or near the car. The car had collided with a tree on the driver’s side, severely damaging the left headlight and pushing the radiator into the fan, rendering it inoperable.
Three months before her disappearance, in November 2003, Murray admitted to ordering food from several restaurants, including one in Hadley, Massachusetts, using a credit card that had been stolen. After three months of good behavior, the charge was dropped, and the charge was continued in December.
Likewise, on the evening of February 5, 2004, Murray spoke on the phone with her older sister, Kathleen, while working her shift at her campus security job. They talked about Kathleen’s issues with her fiance.

The body of Maura is not discovered. However, authorities found bone fragments in September 2021 at the foot of Loon Mountain, but it was not recognized as her.
Likewise, authorities conducted a new ground search of a sizable portion of Route 112 in July 2022. They denied receiving further information to justify the search and remained mum on whether every proof.
They also searched a home on Route 112’s basement on April 3, 2019, to find evidence in the hunt for Maura Murray, but they were unsuccessful in their efforts.
According to Associate Attorney General Jeff Strelzin, more people have speculated about the house because they believe there may be a body in the basement.
