According to the biblical book of Genesis, Abraham left Ur, in Mesopotamia, on the command of God calling. He found a new nation in an undesignated land that he later learned was Canaan. He obeyed unquestioningly the commands of God, from whom he received repeated promises and a covenant that his “seed” would inherit the land.
Abraham is known and referred to as the father of faith. He exhibited his faith in God in the following ways;by obeying God’s call for personal relationship/ left polytheism for monotheism. He was ready to sacrifice his son Isaac when God instructed him.
In their old age Abraham and his wife Sarah had their child at the age of 100 and 90 respectively. This was considered to be a miracle and the Bible puts a lot of emphasis on the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah and made Abraham”Father of many”.
Isaac was born to Sarah when Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90. Abraham was 10-years older than Sarah
