Charles Philip Arthur George was born on 14th November 1948, he is also known as the Prince of Wales and is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. He is the longstanding heir apparent to the British throne. Diana Frances Spencer also known as Diana, Princess of Wales on the other hand was born on 1st July 1961. She was a member of the British royal family, the first wife of Charles and mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Diana was 16-years-old when she officially met Prince Charles, her future husband, at her ancestral home Althorp in 1977. Prince Charles was 32 and Princess Diana was 20 when they married in July 1981. Charles was 12 years older than Princess Diana.
Prince Charles started courting Diana in 1980, and they had been seeing each other as a couple for about 6 months when Charles proposed on February 3, 1981, Diana was still 19 years old at that time. Their engagement was announced on February 24, 1981. In the year 1992, they announced their separation and divorced in 1996. Princess Diana died in a car accident that occurred on August 31st, 1997.
