The 22-year-old victim of a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday morning has been named Alexander Jenning by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Alexander Jennings of Grand Island, New York, died from his injuries in the accident at MUSC at about 3:12 a.m., according to coroner Bobby Joe O’Neill.
The collision took place on Sol Legare Road near Folly Road at roughly 2:34 in the morning, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. According to Andrew Knapp, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, Jennings was hit by a vehicle that was speeding away as he crossed the street.

AJ was struck by two cars that fled the scene early this morning, causing a sad loss for the Outer Banks staff and cast. Every day on the set, AJ was a radiant light and a lovely, compassionate soul.
As we grieve alongside family and friends for this significant loss, words can’t adequately express our sorrow for your loss.
