Brandon Michael Hyde, an American professional baseball manager with the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball, was born on October 3, 1973. Hyde also worked with the Chicago Cubs as a bench coach, director of player development, and first base coach, as well as the Florida Marlins as a bench coach and interim manager.

In 1992, Hyde graduated from Santa Rose’s Montgomery High School. He played college baseball for the Long Beach State Dirtbags and attended Santa Rosa Junior College and California State University, Long Beach.
In 1997, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago White Sox. Through the year 2000, he was a member of the White Sox organization, reaching the Charlotte Knights of the Class AAA International League.
In 2001, he was a member of the Western Baseball League Chico Heat, an independent baseball league. In his minor league career, he appeared in 200 games and batted.252 with 15 home runs.
