Bob Carpenter is taking a little time off from work, and nothing has happened to him. As some concerned fans thought, he is not ill or suffering from any disease. After getting his deserved break, the Nationals announcer will be back on Friday at the Nats Park.

Carpenter has written and sold several copies of Scorebook, his book, since 1984. It has now become an industry standard for how baseball games get scored. He previously worked with ESPN for around 18 years, calling college basketball and football.
According to OAB, Bob has won several Emmy awards for his work.
