Soul singer Wilbert Hart is currently mourning the death of his beloved brother, William Hart, who died on Thursday at the age of 77.

Similarly, Delfonics fans flocked online to express their sorrow for the loss of the adored singer after hearing the news of his death on Facebook.

One supporter stated: “Without The Delfonics’ foundation, there wouldn’t be Blue Magic, Stylistics, or any other early 1970s ballad-successful band (especially ones with a dominant falsetto lead singer). RIP William Hart, who is now with Major Harris and Randy Cain. “

Before that, Wilbert Hart was the last surviving original group member, even though the group has continued to exist in numerous forms.

Where Is Wilbert Hart Of The Delfonics Today?

Together with his wife Sheila, Wilbert Hart currently resides in Willingboro, New Jersey. In addition to having 12 children, the couple also have 34 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Conversely, he is still engaged in his professional career as he continues to tour and perform with his contemporary band, Wil Hart & The Delfonics, in 2020.

William Poogie Hart Brother Is The Founding Member Of The Group

In 1965, William and his brother Wilbert founded the Delfonics, with William serving as their primary songwriter and frequently working with Thom Bell.

The Delfonics had a series of competent singles on Philly Groove Records between 1968 and 1974, including “La-La- (Means I Love You),” “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time),” and “Ready Or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love),” among others that made it to the Billboard R&B and Pop lists.

Plus, the group performed during the inaugural live, televised performance of the Grammy Awards in 1971, where they were honored with the award for Best R&B Performance.

Additionally, a gold record was granted to the group for “Didn’t I (Blow My Mind This Time)” in 1971.

The Soul Singer Was Raised In A Family Of Ten

As the eighth child of Wilson and Iretha Hart, Wilbert Hart was born and reared in a family residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Besides, he attended Overbrook High School and attended Philadelphia public schools. While there, he and his older brother William participated in various vocal ensembles.

The family must endure a difficult time after losing a valued member. We wish the Hart family the fortitude to bear his suffering.

Wilbert Hart Mourns The Death Of Brother William

Hart’s brother passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday in a hospital in Philadelphia as a result of post-operative complications.

Wilbert Hart, a founding band member, confirmed William’s demise and posted a statement on Facebook saying, “R I P. My. Brother. William. Poogie. Delfonics. Hart.”

Likewise, as per his son Hadi, William had been experiencing difficulties breathing and had just been transported to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he died unexpectedly on Thursday due to complications following surgery.

Hart, also known as Poogie to friends and fans, was a founding member and the band’s primary songwriter.

Furthermore, he was also regarded for having one of the cleanest falsettos in the Philadelphia-based soul music of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
