Following his father’s religion, Ben Stiller belongs to the Judaic religion.
After marrying, his mother, the actress, and comedian Anne Meara, who came from an Irish Catholic family, converted to Reform Judaism.
Although they “weren’t a particularly religious family,” they did celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah, and Stiller had a Bar Mitzvah. Ben is a believer in a religion called “humanity”.
Stiller contributed money to John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign as a member of the Democratic Party.
He donated to the Democratic candidates Barack Obama, John Edwards, and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns in 2008 after attending a fundraiser for Barack Obama in February 2007.
Stiller supports several organizations: Declare Yourself, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, to name just a few.
Stiller visited Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv in June 2022 because he viewed him as his “idol.” During the same trip, he also traveled to Lviv, Irwin, and Makarov to draw attention to the humanitarian needs of refugees in Poland and Ukraine.
