The brothers behind Warner Bros, one of the biggest five studios in the World were Harry, Sam, Albert, and Jack Warner. In David Thomson’s biography of the Warner brothers, ” Warner Brothers, The Making of the American Movie studio”, we are exposed to the Polish origins of the Warner brothers. How they came to the New World with their mother and sister, their father having preceded them in 1887. Jack was the only son to have been born in the New World specifically, London, Canada. This Biography inscribed their change of name from Wonsal or Wonsklasol to Warners and the story of an actualized American dream. The family lived in Youngtown Ohio where they sold bicycles, soap, ice cream and later opened a butcher shop for a living.
In the early 1900s. Harry, Sam, Albert Warner invested in a movie projector and traveled across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and neighboring states showing movies in tents. Over the years, they started producing movies and buying or building movie theatres. In 1918, they established a movie production company and created the Warner bros company in 1923.
In the early 21st, Warner Bros was a subsidiary of Time-Warner INC. It is now one of the biggest movie and television programs production companies in the World.
