Collin Finnerty Along with David Evans, and Reade Seligmann, three Duke University men’s lacrosse players, were wrongfully found guilty of raping Crystal in 2006. At the time, the case was a well-reported criminal trial in Durham, North Carolina.

After being detained late on Wednesday, Crystal, a former exotic dancer, was charged with attempted murder, arson, and a number of other offenses.

According to the conclusion of the case, Durham County’s district attorney, Mike Nifong, resigned, was disbarred, and put in temporary jail, which sparked a national debate regarding racism, sexual assault, and incorrect information in the media, and due process on college campuses.

Who Is Collin Finnerty From Duke Lacrosse Scandal?

Collin Finnerty is a Lacrosse player form Duke University who was wrongfully accused of rape during 2006.

When the case was later proven as fake by the prosecutors, Duke University had to pay $20 million ot each lacrosse player, becoming a major scandal of that time.

Later, Collin earned his degree at Loyala College in Maryland after leaving Duke. He participated in lacrosse and even helped the team go to the NCAA Tournament.

According to his LinkedIn page, Finnerty obtained a position at ESPN as an account service representative. He worked at ESPN for one and a half years before accepting a position as an equity sales trader at Deutsche Bank in New York. Since July 2012, he has been there.

Following an argument with a Washington man outside a Georgetown club, In Washington, D.C., Finnerty and two of his Chaminade High School lacrosse teammates were charged with simple assault. The individual said that Finnerty had threatened and teased him.

Despite Mangum’s claims to the contrary, she has been working in strip clubs since at least 2002. In fact, the incident report from her arrest that year for taxi snatching and attempting to run over a police officer revealed that she had been lap dancing at a strip club that night.

The Duke lacrosse case was the outcome of Crystal Mangum’s accusation. She performed as a stripper at the party hosted at the Duke University house at 610 North Buchanan Boulevard.

The woman claims that the Duke players forced her into a lavatory where she was raped, abused, and choked for 30 minutes.

Mangum called the police to report that white guys who were outside the house where the party was placed had racially insulted her and tried to broomstick her in the genitalia.

The state’s attorney general’s office took nearly a year to dismiss the charges and acquit the players of all wrongdoing.

Where Is Collin Finnerty Now?

Collin Finnerty is currently employed in the banking industry and leading a normal life. He currently works in New York City as an analyst for Deutsche Bank.

After all the incidents, sophomore Finnerty left Duke and spent a year with his family before returning. He then pursued his degree at Loyola College in Maryland.

Finnerty was named to the Tewaaraton Trophy shortlist for the 2008–2009 season. This award is given yearly to the nation’s top lacrosse player.

The prosecution allegedly eventually withdrew the charges against Collin Finnerty and two other athletes.
