Julia Sanina is part of the Eurovision 2023 hosts – The Eurovision Song Contest is always a tremendous hit, and the United Kingdom is hosting it this year.
The competition has moved to Liverpool after Ukraine was unable to host it last year owing to Russia’s continuous invasion.
However, Ukraine will play an important role in the show, with one of its stars serving as a presenter.
Who is Julia Sanina?
Julia Sanina, born Yuliia Oleksandrivna Holovan, is the lead singer of the Ukrainian alternative rock band The Hardkiss, which was formed in 2011.
She was born in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, and has been performing since she was three years old.
With the song “Helpless,” the band competed in the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2016 and finished second in the national final, failing to qualify for the competition.
Hardkiss won Best New Act and Best Music Video at the Ukrainian National Music Awards in 2013, and Best Rock Band and Best Song in Ukrainian in 2018.
Valeriy Bebko, a guitarist, is Julia’s husband.
Last year, the singer was elected by the people to serve on the professional jury that will choose Ukraine’s 2023 Eurovision entry, with 2016 Eurovision winner Jamala and Taras Topolia from the band Antytila, and she has previously judged on The X Factor Ukraine.
