Lindsay was born to her parents in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. When she was five years old, she moved to Northern Virginia with her family. Her father is Chet Czarniak.

She loved sports since her childhood. The reporter played lacrosse and field hockey at Centreville High School. She graduated from James Madison University with a major in online journalism in 2000.
