Kalyn Ponga is a pro-rugby league footballer from Port Hedland, Western Australia. He captains and competes as a fullback in NRL’s Newcastle Knights.
Additionally, Ponga participated in National Rugby League matches for the North Queensland Cowboys and represented New Zealand Mori internationally.
He was selected to play for Australia in the Rugby League World Cup 9s on 7 October 2019. Later on the same day, he was chosen for the Australian U23 Junior team.

Kalyn Ponga Toilet Controversy With Kurt Mann
As per foxsports.com, on Sunday night, Ponga and Mann allegedly entered the pub at 10.45 p.m. and left around 11.10 p.m.
James Hooper of Fox Sports reports that the club asserts the two spent no more than 25 minutes inside the Delany Hotel in Newcastle on Saturday night.
On Wednesday, further information regarding Kalyn Ponga and Kurt Mann’s ejection from a bathroom cubicle came to light.
The two were featured in a video that quickly went viral, showing both guys being asked to leave their cubicles. Both leave the room fully dressed and with beverages.
On Tuesday, the NRL drug-tested the two players. At the same time, they have also taken action against Ponga and Mann, under investigation.
On NRL 360, Paul Kent remarked, “The NRL sent drug testers up today (Tuesday) under the illicit and hazardous drugs policy, and both players had drug tests.”

Kalyn Ponga Father Andre Ponga Statement On The Matter
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Ponga’s father Andre Ponga said, Kalyn and Kurt Mann were in the toilet together as they were both ill.
As per Andre’s statement, Kalyn bought a thrilling house on Saturday, and he and a few friends partied in the evening.
He said, “Sick in the toilet, and his mate went in to help him.”
In contrast to Ponga’s father Andre’s version of the story, which claimed his son was a crook in the bathroom cubicle, hotel personnel informed the Knights that neither player was drunk.
Following the event, questions about Ponga’s leadership have been raised, with many wondering why the captain was out drinking when his teammates were playing.
On the surface, it appears that this is a long way off the crime of the century; however, the Knights are treading a hazardous path when it comes to how they will handle any punishment given to their $1 million fullback.
The early indication out of Newcastle is Ponga may avoid any form of punishment, while Mann is anticipated to be punished for drinking while sidelined with a soft tissue injury, FoxSports reported.
