As stated early in the article, Pien comes from a family that has a massive presence in the footballing world. Pien’s father, Rene Meulensteen, is a former Dutch player and the current assistant manager of the Australia National Soccer team. Her mother’s name is Marieke Meulensteen.
Rene Meulensteen previously worked with Qatari Youth Team before accepting a role at Manchester United Youth Team. The Australian team’s coach then worked for Brnodby but came to Manchester United after a year.

From 18 January 2007 to 26 June 2013, Rene worked with the senior team of Manchester United. He was considered an integral part of the team of Sir Alex Ferguson and worked alongside Mike Phelan.
During his time at Manchester, Rene won many trophies with the legendary Scott manager, including three Premier League Titles and Champions League.
Rene has a connection in India as he was the head coach of IPL side Kerela Blasters. Since 2018 he has been working with the Australian football team and has achieved success with them.
