Nat Fyfe, a two-time winner of the Brownlow Medal, will be out of Saturday’s elimination final between Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs due to injury.

In practice, the Dockers captain hurt his hamstring.

Fremantle said in a statement that they were still optimistic the 30-year-old would be able to play this year.

The right hamstring is affected, which is the opposite leg to the one that Fyfe hurt in Fremantle’s round 19 match with Richmond.

He missed three games due to the injury before making a comeback in the club’s round 23 victory over GWS.

Before late Monday night scans revealed the hamstring strain, Fyfe suffered the injury during practice.
