Famous American rapper, Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., popularly known as Young Dolph met his untimely death on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 when he was shot dead in his hometown at South Memphis, Tennessee.
The unfortunate incident occurred at the Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookie store while he was picking up some cookies. According to sources, an unidentified gunman pulled up in front of the store and opened fire through the front window.
Apparently, a similar incident occurred on September 26th, 2017 at a shoe store in Hollywood which he survived after surgery. Later that same year, his SUV was shot over 100 times in Charlotte, NC, for which Blac Youngsta turned himself in but was later released after charges were dropped.
The Airways Boulevard, a major street in Memphis, was shut down during the course of the investigation. Also, Tennesee State House representative, London Lamar and Memphis Councilman, J.B. Smiley called a curfew to curtail any act of violence and civil unrest.
Young Dolph’s career soared after he released his debut album, “King of Memphis” in 2016. He was 36 when he died and together with his partner Mia Jaye had two children, Tre Tre and Aria.
