Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., an American rapper known by many as Young Dolph was shot dead on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in his hometown in South Memphis, Tennessee. He was born in Chicago on July 27th, 1985, and later moved with his family to Memphis, Tennessee, when was 2 years old.
Due to his parents’ cocaine addiction, he was practically raised by his grandmother. Young Dolph had a long-term relationship with Mia Jaye and together had a son and daughter.
The young rapper and producer had an estimated net worth of $3million at the time of his death.
Young Dolph made his presence known to the music industry and the world at large with his first mixtape “Paper route campaign” in 2008 and was followed two years later by “Welcome 2 dolphin world” after he established his label, Paper Route Empire in 2010.
In 2015, he released his debut album ‘King of Memphis’, following his feature on O.T. Genasis’, ‘Cut It’ earlier that year.
Thornton was also known for his philanthropy work. In 2020, he donated $25000 to his alma mater, Hamilton High School, and frequently handed out Thanksgiving dinners in Memphis, his hometown.
